COCHLEAR IMPLANT MAPPING SESSIONS – GOAL R500 000
My twin daughters, Shanice and Mellisa Lewis (21) recently had their cochlear implant surgeries, and now they need to undergo their mapping sessions. Each mapping session for both girls adds up to cochlear R1358. 1 x mapping session per month for one year after switch on. Thereafter 1 – 2 x per year. This session depends on how well the patient is doing.
1st there must be an evaluation session for both twins at the speech therapist. Thereafter, she will determine how many therapy sessions they must get.
Cost for evaluation session – R542.50
Therapy session thereafter – R232.50, 1 x per week for 30 min.
I need to raise funds for the mapping sessions, speech therapy as well as flights. My daughters live in Nambia and Windhoek respectively and need to be flown in and back for all their sessions. These sessions will be taking place at the Ear Institute in Pretoria, South Africa, and sessions will be starting on the 15th of June 2018.
I am currently unable to cover all the costs by myself. Any form of financial assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance for your contributions.
